Where do you do your singing ...
... and do you want it to be with an amazing group of women?
If you love to sing, even if you've never tried singing in a group, sing mostly with your hairbrush, or haven't sung since grade school, we have a place for you! AND no, you don't have to know how to read sheet music!
- Community Chorus - VECC:
- Come out and visit any Tuesday evening
- The section options will be explained and you can choose what part you would like to sing
- All sheet music and learning tracks are provided online so learning the songs is simplified
- Commitment - 1 hour per week - Tuesdays 6:30 to 7:30
- You do not have to memorize your sheet music, you can hold it
- The Community Chorus is non-auditioned
- Cost - $20 per month
- Auditioned Chorus - VEC
- Come out and visit any Tuesday evening
- You will be voice placed in a section depending on your natural vocal range and abilities
- All sheet music and learning tracks are provided online
- After 3 to 6 weeks, when you feel you are ready, you will be offered an audition. The audition is a very relaxed experience singing along with the other 3 parts.
- Auditioned Chorus Commitment:
- Weekly rehearsals - 2 1/2 to 3 hours
- The auditioned chorus does not hold sheet music on the risers or during performances
- There is sometimes a visual component or choreography to some songs
- We have an annual retreat for auditioned members in September
- There may be section practices outside of regular rehearsal times
- Coaching evenings or weekends when we are preparing for competitions
